Focused on research and development for Arabica coffee cultivation in Tamil Nadu’s unique climatic conditions.
The coffee areas in Tamil Nadu fall under the North-East monsoon with low rainfall, requiring specialized cultivation packages. Recognizing the importance of the region as a substantial contributor of Arabica coffee, a regional station was established on 12.5 hectares near Thandigudi village in the Pulney hills.
The station has a 6.5-hectare research farm, experienced scientific and technical personnel, and well-equipped laboratory facilities to carry out advanced research activities.
